What a great little place to enjoy the company of friends, a hot meal, and a wonderful glass of wine. We did that this past weekend and enjoyed every minute. I enjoyed the Pfälzer Teller which had all of my favorites and I think that I will have to try their steaks the next time. The only reason I didn’t give them a 5 across the board is that their vegetarian options are limited, but my wife did enjoy her meal. We all had a wonderful time.

Impressive as always! My family loves this place because the food is just outstanding. The steaks are cooked to perfection and the desserts are heavenly. You can’t beat the atmosphere and ambience just sitting in a cozy old ruin or outside in the sunset. The variety of meat dishes should definitely be tried as with the seasonal spargel (white asparagus) soup. Top it all off with an awesome dessert and a capuccino. We’ve been here a few times and will definitely be coming back for more. Birthdays and special occasions definitely become more memorable having it here.

The food served is good, staff is attentive, atmosphere is "medieval". Not wheelchair accessible. The Schänke is lovely located close to the castle ruins and transmits the atmosphere of the old castle. Meat-lovers will be delighted by the variety of food and good cuisine. For Vegetarians the choice is rather limited. We reserved a table for ten people and it was great to talk to one another although you could only hear the ones sitting next to you. We arrived around 19:15 an the restaurant was close to fully booked.

Had a great Sunday afternoon meal here. Food was delicious and was served pretty fast. Definitely recommend you get the bread with curry butter! Service was also outstanding. This place has character!

We had a lovely evening meal here yesterday, its not everyday that you can have beautiful food inside a medieval castle .We were greeted by a lovely lady that even spoke a little English and they even had a English menu,,yippee!!, we got complimentary bread and a delicious homemade dip,we both had the ARGENTINIAN Rump steak,one with the garlic butter and the other with caramelised onion with a side order of mixed vegetables, the steak was cooked to perfection and seasoned to our liking.This area of Germany is renowned for its fine local wine's which we had a bottle of the Rosa from the village this was also fabulous, What a lovely evening, thanks for the lovely evening Simon and Lesley, this was the BEST MEAL WE have had on our Motorhome Adventures

Hiked there with two small kids and got rejected to get a table while there was not a single other restaurant open anywhere close by and all tables were empty
